Time, without excess

Meridiano was born of a conviction: value lies in what you wear on your wrist, not in the name engraved on it.

I’m Lorenzo.

This is why I created Meridiano

I never imagined I would end up in the world of watchmaking. Then someone dear to me, on the eve of the most important day of their career, stopped in front of a shop window. They looked at a steel timepiece for a long time. They read the price, smiled and walked on.

I have never forgotten that smile. An object made to accompany the days that matter had become something to look at from the outside. It didn’t sit right with me. It had to change.

I began asking questions: of the people who wear watches, the people who repair them, the people who collect them. I found more than confirmation. I found people who welcomed me as one of their own.

Meridiano is what I am building for them. A world where you look at the dial before the price tag, and where the only question you are ever asked is: “Where did you get it?”

This is the world we are building.

The noon line

The name came to me in front of a sundial painted on a wall: a rod, a shadow, a line.

The meridian is the line the sun crosses at noon. For centuries, time was measured from there: noon in the town squares, the routes of seafarers, the time zones. It is the fixed point from which every hour begins, and from that line comes our name.

The sum that doesn’t add up

That evening I did the maths. A luxury timepiece can cost fifteen thousand euros. Take it apart piece by piece and what remains is a steel case, a crystal, a movement: the materials are worth a small fraction of that figure.

The rest is the name, the shop window, the wait. Meridiano begins with that smile, and with this imbalance.

Removing, not adding

No boutiques. No waiting lists. No premium for the name.

We removed everything that is not worn on the wrist and kept the rest. Others sell exclusivity. We sell the watch.

The work, before the shop window

What you see in the collection is the smallest part of our work. Before that, there are the models we considered and set aside, the details we debated, the decisions we remade from scratch. One rule has held since the first day: if we would not wear it ourselves, it does not enter the collection.

  • ChoosingMore than a hundred models reviewed, few kept.
  • RemovingFrom the design, the price, the purchase: everything unnecessary, removed.
  • RefiningThe photographs, the words, every page: nothing left to chance.
  • StayingThe work doesn’t end at delivery: there is always someone on the other side.

Made to be worn

I wore the first Meridiano myself, every day, for months. I wanted to know how it feels after a hundred mornings, not how it looks in a photograph.

A Meridiano is not designed for the safe. It is designed for the wrist: at the office, at dinner, on any ordinary day. Steel, clean lines, resistance to rain and splashes. The wearer adds the rest.
